Some quick information:
His album will not be released for about another two months. During this time, he will be promoting his music through various means, including performances and advertisements. At the moment, only his newest song, “母親的來電/Mother’s Phone Call” can be downloaded (it has TONE talking for a few seconds in it though), although you can listen to the full version of all of his songs online. To download “母親的來電/Mother’s Phone Call,” go to http://www.bitbeat.com/download/download/, enter “bitbeat4mom” in the “歌曲代碼 (Code)” area, and complete the rest of the fields.

“TONE” as a name:
Christine and me pointed out that naming yourself “TONE” may be a bad idea. TONE, his music company, and I all thought of this beforehand when we were trying to think of a name that he could use. I once told TONE that there’s a Hong Kong group called Mp4, and we joked about how he could be named Mp3 so that his music would be really hard to be pirated… hehe. Another problem with the name “TONE,” as he and I discussed, is that some people may pronounce “tone” incorrectly as 痛/tong, which means pain or sorrow. However, in the end, he still decided to go with it because it stands out and fits him really well. Besides, the name has started discussions like this one, and any discussion about a new artist, good or bad, is still a good thing.

I really like [The Deepest Heart] – it’s a great idea to put the accoustic percussion in the song. As for [6:57AM], hmmm, I think something is missing. I can’t describe what it is. Maybe not enough salt. :) Is there a way to purchase his CD? Or am I not reading the info carefully? Oh, I also think that he somewhat mumbles like Jay, though not as bad.

yeah, i agree with christine, i googled tone and it’s not a very good idea. his style of music is individual so maybe he’ll be more welcome than singers who imitate jay chou and such.
i like his songs, they’re really good.

The only problem with naming yourself “Tone” is that it’s hard for potential fans to search for your information. Typing “tone” into Google isn’t the smartest idea. Also, how is it that he is so good at Chinese even though he’s from the US? I could never understand how those celebrities from America were so fluent. My Chinese really sucks in comparison. Is it just the way they are brought up?

TONE’s music is easily liked even listen for the first time.

I first thought there’s a little bit of Jay chou, Pu Shu, perhaps some A-Yue’s style, but after few listening, I felt his voice and songs are raw and unique.
