Music Chart Debut (plus a number of updates)

Contributors' Column

3. December 2008

Along the week, I’ve launched our first weekly music chart. The chart is calculated based on YesAsia (both US and Global) Bestsellers of the week, the most viewed album reviews in our blog and the G-Music Billboard (which track the highest selling albums of the week in taiwan). If you have any suggestions to improve it (you know I thrive upon your suggestion ;) ), let us know here.

Contributor of the Month

It’s a difficult one, but I’ve decided to give the award LTD, who tiredlessly moderate the forum, helped in the lyrics request forum and organized the 5th LOUD & PROUD Singing Competition.

Congratulation Lylan! Your $10 YesAsia Coupon Voucher is on the way. ;)

Chinese Indie Music

For the most part of this site, it’s all about Pop Music. I thought it would be nice to cover the independent side of chinese music as well, other than the major record labels’. And like most of you all, I know nothing about the indie scene of chinese music. So I’ve invited CFensi to blog about it here. Over the weeks, she has blogged about artist like Jacky Xue, SuperVC and AOK. Let’s give her a warm welcome to the CMB family and hopefully with her help, we’ll be able to explore more on chinese indie music.

Preview listening is slowly coming back

Last month, we had an intense debate in our forum reviewing our “No MP3″ policy in our site. And, we’ve decided to stick with using Imeem. Check out the Aska Yang and Yoga Lin’s album review with Imeem player embeded to it.

CMB Singapore Meetup

If you’re in Singapore, we are meeting up. Read this thread for more information.
