Thank you still! I kind of understand a little better, but yes it is an abstract but beautiful song

I translated this song (with the help of Luna from Ting Dong) several months ago.  However, I am not currently on my own computer, so I can't access that file at the moment.  However, I will be back within a day to post my translation of it up for you, even though Steve already helped you out here.  Sometimes, it's nice to see two different translations though.

As for the pinyin form, I will post that up soon.  I already started working on it and should be done shortly.

Edit: The following is the pinyin form of the song.  However, the lyrics you posted up seem to be wrong.  Again, I don't have the right lyrics because I am not on my computer, but I'll go over my own lyrics within a day and post them up.  If you posted the wrong lyrics, that means both the pinyin and translation will come out wrong...

I think translations for chinese literature is difficult when you try to do it with English. English is clumsy when compare to Mandarin. You will be needing an entire sentence to describe what a single chinese character stands for.

The story is about  a young man being reminded of a girl that he loved when he was younger. He was reminded of his life with her as he stood beside the romantic scenery of the Jiang Nan river in the misty season.

And as he stood there recalling, he remembered why he loved her and due to his other pursuits in life, they have seperated. And it was only at that moment, standing beside the river,  he realizes that he has been lying to himself. He knows then his love for her was deeper than he thought possible.
It was also at that moment, he realized that he was already to late to turn back the clock. He broke down....tries to bury that thought...only to be interupted by the shattering sound coming from his heart that paralyzed him with pain and sorrow.

Below is an attempt to bring to life what the song is about to someone who does not understand mandarin. And some point it may stray from its literal meaning inorder to present a more precise feel of what that sentense wants you to feel.
