I love Rainie Yang, her personality is awesome. I really like her acting as Qi Yue in Devil Beside You. It was kind of over-the-top-sweet at some times though. But if you think about it, the drama was sort of cliche with it's romantic moments. Even so, I totally fell in love with the show! Her acting isn't the best I've seen, but it's admirable and pleasant enough to watch.

About her singing, I think she does have some talent in it. She's probably not the best, but she has some really good songs and a sincere interest in singing. Her live performances aren't too shabby either.

About her acting cute, yeah, maybe it annoys some people. But it's refreshing to see somebody cute unlike how there are so many 'sexy' stars nowadays.

Rainie is definitely not the best singer or actor, but she is still a favored celebrity in my mind.

I don't mind her at all, atleast she's staying true to herself and taking the time to grow up instead of waking up one morning with a revealing attire. lol

I adore her voice... but i just tend to skip her really cutsie pop stuff other than that she's a pretty good singer. She can actually sing live.. unlike some HK singers  >.< 

lol I was fine with her acting in DBY..or was it because i was focusing on Mike He ??  lol her facial expressions.. not many people would like to be out of their comfort zone and start making faces to a camera and have it viewed on tv and the internet :p

whow... a lot of diverse opinions about Rainie in this forum. it's actually fun to read.

   as for Rainie... i like her. i really can't understand why but there's just something about her that makes me like her.
one thing i can say about her is that she is an improving actress/singer. she was pretty damn awful during her Meteor Garden days. and at that time, i didn't like her at all. i was like, "couldn't they find a better actress than her? jeez!"
   her songs though, some of them are just so weird. it's so... shallow and kind of meaningless...but at least the melodies are good. on the other hand, some of them are really good like Ai Mei for example. i like her voice though. although it's not really a great one but i like it anyway.

ooohh... you're right about the childish MV and acting. but then again, that childish acting of hers is her forte. that's what's she good at. but i'm not saying it's adorable or anything.
   
   i did find her pretty in the video though. so umm... i really don't know if i can ask this here but could you give me the gist of what the song means? not an entire translation just like a summary or something. i've seen and heard it but don't really know what it's all about. thanks...

her acting seems too forced.

i'm sure rainie is actually a very mature person. i don't believe for a second that she's just the cute childish person she portrays. i think she knows that it's something that sells within the industry and she doesn't mind "acting" to do what she wants to do. i think it takes a lot of commitment actually, haha.

i remember seeing her on tv once before i watched meteor garden this past summer, and was like omg. who is this girl? is she for real? she's acting like she's six. i can't believe this sells in asia, etc. etc. but asia does have this cute thing going on that doesn't fly in america.

i actually really liked her in meteor garden. her character was pretty flat, so her acting fit well. i felt like her character actually was really just young, and sweet, and naive.

well i think jolin and cyndi are in fact mature adults as much as rainie is.

i dislike the way she keeps clarifying she's different from her on-screen persona, and the next moment she acts all cutesy again - makes me wonder why she does the former. to tell others she's not cutesy? more hypocritical than convincing to me.

any show host for anything is acting. no one shows true humor or personality as it may threaten their position in their job.
