For those who aren't already aware of him, he's the young and handsome rapper in Jolin's Real Man MV http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8COsZloYdU Does anyone else here rate him highly? I personally feel he'll be a future star. If he releases a solo album I would listen to it.
I've also found a bit of other info online, he was born in 1989 and I was sad to read that he had a difficult childhood with his father being violent towards his mother and having extra marital affairs.

He's ok. I can't really make an assumption until he actually releases something. Taiwan has had many hyped up artists who fell flat because their 15 minutes of fame depended on their looks or connections.

Nick may turn out to be a one hit wonder as I haven't heard of him doing anything lately, but I hope he doesn't fall by the wayside as I think his voice sounds quite sexy on Real Man and in my opinion he is very good looking as well. A lot of women on YouTube commenting on the video seem to agree with this. However, these things won't guarantee him instant success, only time will tell if he has what it takes.

It looks like Warner is putting a lot on Nick. Supposedly they are spending a few million NT (20 actually) for promotions during the next three months for a live concert on July 10th. He needs 3000 fans to come lol (he will probably get it) in order for him to release an album.
Maybe I should go. Nah, it'll probably just be flocked with fangirls. X_X
I actually think he's cool, but we'll see.

It's cool to hear of Nick doing something currently, but it does make me wonder, if he's only appeared on 1 song to date, how will he perform a concert?
Will he probably just sing cover versions or maybe the label already have a few new tracks ready for the occasion?

According to this link http://translate.google.co.uk/translate … prmd%3Divn It seems the site I got Nick's year of birth from was wrong, he was born 2nd August 1988. His Facebook page also confirms this.

Mmm, isn't there like a competition between him and Yen-J. Personally prefer the latter as Nick seems to be just another Wilber and Show.

He's a new artist ![]()
Hop he becomes more popular...in the video "Heartless" he was very good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qibz4DK … r_embedded

Is that actually Nick singing that song, if so he sounds really different to me from Jolin's track or is he just appearing in someone else's video? If that is Nick, I don't like it, to me it sounds like he's aping Nicky Lee.

He's ok to me.. i noticed him not through jolin's mv though but through his superstar mom..

Here's a video I found of Nick and his mother performing a song together http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQOFwTTI … re=related Am I right in thinking Jay Chou wrote the music as it looks like it to me? I'm not trying to sound ageist or anything here but Billie shouldn't humilate herself and her son by trying to be "street". You can still be a trendy mother without resorting to this kind of undignified display.

Yeah, I think it's his first MV in which he sings...
What do you mean with "Aping Nicky Lee" (I don't know this artist x) )?

Nicky Lee Jiu Zhe 李玖哲 is a Korean-American singer/rapper from the hip hop group Machi. He also releases solo albums and won Best Male Artist at the 2005 Golden Melody Awards. Here is a picture of him:
What I was trying to say is the song of Nick's seems heavily influenced by Lee's style, I also feel his dancing has been inspired a lot by Show Luo, although you could say that a lot of artists stick to a tried and tested formula nowadays.

Only thing is that Nicky Lee totally pwns Nick voice wise. lol.
Nick has potential, but he needs something else that stands out (besides his looks) for him to pass the barrier of carbon copy.

I agree with you, very few Asian singers sound as good as Nicky Lee. After hearing Nick's song the other day, my Mum seems to agree that he's a bit of a lightweight pretty boy who will probably go down a storm with the teenage girl market. I'm not slating Nick, but I was expecting him to come up with something a bit better than a song which sounds like a Show Luo/Nicky Lee mismash to me.

Oh...For the style of the song I can't judge since I don't know Nicky Lee, for the dance I agree: it kinda remember Show Luo (he's really good anyway).
I have to say I like the song: his rapping and his dance are good, but I feel that he needs to improve his voice, or maybe he's good at singing and that's a voice I don't like X°D...Don't you think so?

Yeah, I totally get what you say. But I sorta already expected that his voice would not be his selling point lol.

It seems Nick's first album has just been released. http://www.yesasia.com/global/nick-chou … /info.html Has anyone heard it yet? If so what's the verdict?

I only listened to the first 2 singles, but I know it's doing decently on charts (debuted @ #3 on the g-music charts). I still retain my older comment though on his vocal ability after listening to his ballad single. Not bad, not great.
