Kaira Gong is one of the understated artists out there and I feel that it is my duty to reintroduce her to the world. In my most humble opinion, she definitely has it all: vocal, song writing skill, and look. This album successfully showcases all those factors. The combination of her vocal and song writing style reminds me of an American singer-songwriter named Dar Williams. If you are a “Lilith Fair” follower, you’ll probably know who Dar Williams is. The difference is, Dar Williams has more folk, bluegrass style while Kaira has more pop. This album is filled with good, solid ballads, and she manages to avoid making them sappy. I highly suggest listening to this album on a lazy Sunday morning; it’s very relaxing.

Notable tracks:
[再一次擁有] is the first song that I listened to. There is something solemn and poetic about this song of lost love. Her mellow vocal helps to resonate the lyric so much that it will make you feel her heartbreak. The next track is [想不想自由]. This is a very good travel song, particularly if you’re driving through the country side. Imagine feeling the breeze of fresh air flowing through your hair as you drive by all those green fields, the warm summer sun touching your skin, and simply feeling the freedom of being alive. “世界在等著我” (shi jie zai deng zhe wo: the world is waiting for me) as she sings in this song. Another good travel song is [十字路口]. It’s a self-empowering song with good guitar accompaniment and happy melody. I also recommend [十字路口]. It has a beautiful piano and violin accompaniment. If you have trouble sleeping, forget counting sheeps! Try listening to [一天天]. It has this lullaby melody that is very calming and soothing. I find it difficult to pick an absolute favorite from this album, but if I must, then it would be [想不想自由]. I can’t get over its cheerful melody and smart lyric. Well, I can go on and on talking about every single piece of this album, but I think I’d rather leave the nice surprises for you to find yourself.
