Kangta & Vanness
SCANDAL
Umm… I know this is not really a complete album to be reviewed. I cannot help but tempted to. I would agree more if they are known as a collaboration rather than a new group. When the media reported that Kangta 安七炫 (An Qi Xuan) and Vanness 吴建豪 (Wu Jian Hao) are going to work together for a new album, my first thought was – impressive!
Scandal is definitely a sexy and hot number as the first track. Watch the MV and you will start drooling all over them (Ok, I’m exaggerating here. Unless you’re fans of Kangta and Vanness). Written by Vanness, the rap is just trashy.
There are actually three versions of Scandal – Mandarin, English and Korean. Out of the three I prefer the Korean version more mainly because I don’t understand the language so I tend to be less focused on the lyrics while the English version is no less the same as the Chinese one…
Alright let’s move on to the next song before I start confusing myself with every Scandal(s).
127日 is a sad ballad that tells about a boy who had broken up with his girlfriend but is still reminiscing over the loss. The chorus:-
127日的分手 就有127颗心在痛
127 ri de fen shou jiu you 127 ke xin zai tong
[roughly translated as] 127 days of break-up equals to 127 pains in my heart;
is simple yet enough to let you understand how hurt the persona is.
Track three, Good Vibration is another fast rap. While track four, One Day is a ballad. Both of the songs are quite entertaining.
Time and again, I can’t figure out what Kangta’s enunciation without reaching for the lyrics.
Overall, I would not consider this as a great album. It is just special in terms of the collaboration. A fresh idea to combine two artistes of different origins, one Korean and one Chinese, to make an album. Perhaps this is some company gimmicks to help boost their individual popularity in both regions.
Well, we should just see how long Kangta & Vanness will stands.

I like the Korean version too, just because Kangta sounds normal and since I’m Chinese I can’t tell how bad Vanness is. Scandal is my favorite, and 127 Days just grew on me despite it being slightly boring.
I really love Vanness with short hair. He’s like a totally different person. He used to be my most despised person in F4 because he was so girly-looking.

Strangely i don’t have much problem listening to Kangta’s singing in mandarin without referring to lyrics, i think he did a commendable job in that. i like all the tracks except One Day (which i find a tad BORING). Preferred the mandarin versions probably coz i don’t understand Korean, and i like to identify with the lyrics when listening to a song. Kangta is cute and Vanness rocks! Hope a 2nd album is in the making…

I really like these two guys working together~they did a good job!It’s a successful breakthrough for the cooperation of Chinese and Korean artists.
Besides,the rhythm of their songs are pretty exicted.Kangta’s voice is pretty good and Vanness’s dancing performs well,I think they have mutual benefits.

I don’t mind Vanness’ short hair as long as he stops ripping his shirt off at concerts (like the attempt he did @ MTV Asia Award), that’ll be great. Hehehehehe… :D

they performed the chinese version of scandal on last night’s taiwanese show, zong yi da ge da. it was a pretty funny act and they even had vanness singing an excerpt from “yue liang dai biao wo de xin”.

all the songs are good actually… KangTa is goo at dancing and singing but if you look at sonme of his pictures, he looks really girly and Vanness is hot.. and theres nothing wrong with showing off his hot body =]

Marvellous, kangta did a good job. Comparing to vaness, despite being a korean, i think kangta sang very well in chinese. His composition for 127 days is impressive, a very different composition from his previous work, a slower tempo with a lovey touch. All in all, the main selling point is that the collaboration is fresh, other than that, the album sells because each of them, Kangta and vanness will have a fix amount of fan who will buy the album. Gaining a new market? I think they did, but not much i reckoned.

I think this album is really awesome. I definately like Vaness look and Kangta is really cool also. I just really love Scandal and 127 Days, although the chinese versions sound a tad odd, but thats okay! I really support them and hope they make more songs together.

I have to say this album is really good…… kangta is sooooooooooooooooo damn hot hehehe. he is soo good at singin in chinese* good job kangta* i love all of the songs in teh album especially 127 days, its sooo sad yet really good. i reccormen u guys to go buy the album
