Landy Wen
Love Comes Back (Ai Hui Wen)

Landy’s first compilation/best selection album. How can I miss it?

Her first notable appearance was back in ‘99 (If I’m not mistaken), in a duet with Jacky Wu for “Roof Top” (Wu Ding). Her voice is sweet, smooth and unique and the song was enjoyable and given us a strong impression. After six years, Landy has finally release a compilation album with 4 new songs.

“Love Comes Back” comes in 2 CDs. One for more sentimental, ballad type of songs under the title “Blue Color Lover” (Lan Se QIng Ren) and, another CD features more up-tempo, dance type of songs, titled “Rhythm and Blue” (Jie Zou Lan Diao). *Side Note, both of the word “blue” mentioned in the album title are translated from the chinese word “lan” from Landy’s chinese name, Wen Lan. Frankly, I’m not a big fans of the black, up-tempo R&B genre, which has becoming ever popular nowadays. Nope. I more into Landy’s ballad and love songs.

Both of the new songs, “Love comes back” (Ai Hui Wen) and “Could not leave him” (Li Bu Kai Ta) in “Blue Color Lover” are very likable, even in the first listening. I especially like “Could not leave him” (Li Bu Kai Ta), a nice and sad “Wen-Style” love songs.

Among all the best songs, my favourites are “Can or not” (Neng Bu Neng), featuring rap from Jason of Iron Bamboo (Tie Zhu Tang), “Blue Color Rain” (Lan Se Yu) and “North Star” (Bei Dou Xing). Her duets with Jay Chou are simply amazing, and irresistable. “Wish Me Happy Birthday” (Zu Wo Sheng Ri Kuai Le) is under Jay’s “Incomparable” (Wu Yi Lun Bi) concert version which you can hear the fans screaming when Jay sings and scream even louder at Landy’s turn. Finally, it ends with “Roof Top” (Wu Ding), which is another superb song in Jay Chou version, it is definitely better than Jacky Wu’s version.

This album is addictive. You will like it for the first few time you listen to it; love it after a while; and will probably end up listening to it for the rest of the month (Just like me)! If you never listen to Landy’s song, never own any of her previous album, it is one of the “must have”. Now tell me, how can you miss it ? :D

She initially duet “Wu Ting” with Jacky Wu but the song its written by Jay Chou. Then, there is a later version of “Wu Ting” duet with Jay Chou.
