Liu Jia Liang (Liang Liang)
Love Song 2 (Liang Liang Qing Ge)

“Xie Xie Hua Jian De Ge (Thanks to Emil Chow’s song);
Xie Xie Hua Jian Da Ge (Thanks to Emil Chow Big Brother);
Xie Xie Ni Chang De Zhe Shou Qing Ge” (Thank you for singing this love song).

The radio station in Malaysia has been ‘hogging’ this song. When I first heard it, I thought Emil Chow sings this. No wonder, this young man’s voice gives people a strong resemblance of Emil’s. He is Liu Jia Liang, or like most fans prefer to call him: Liang Liang.

Like some of his peers in this generation, Liang Liang rose to the stardom from internet. In 2005, his “Ni Dao Di Ai Shui” (Who do you really love) swept the chinese music industry like a storm. On the next year, he released his 2nd album “Liang Liang Love Song 2″. It is only better.

“Liang Liang Love Song 2″ represents the old school love philosophy of Liang Liang. He expressed his pain, seriousness, persistence, and insistence of only one true love, which is all but lost in the younger generation. The first track “Ai Wo Jiu Bie Shang Hai Wo” (If Yo Love Me, Please Don’t Hurt Me) is almost like a sequel to his previous hit song “Ni Dao Di Ai Shui” (Who do you really love). This follows by the 2nd track “Ai Guo Jiu Zhu Gou” (Loved before is enough) that tells about a cliche you might heard it from some Hong Kong movie: love is not about eternal, but a matter of had it once before.

I particularly like the song “Romeo and Juliet”, track no.6 of the album, which is a fast song and give us another range of Liang Liang’s repertoire. And then, it’s the song I quoted in the opening line: “Gan Xie Hua Jian” (Thank You Emil). The story is paying tribute to a song by Emil Chow - “Rang Wo Huan Xi Rang Wo You” (Make me happy, make me sad) that influence the life of young Liang Liang, and shows his gratitude by thanking him. Honestly, I have never been so touched for a long time, feeling the same for Liang Liang.

I’ve been a Emil Chow fans since I started listen to chinese music. I have to say Liang Liang really filled the shoe well for Emil Chow (ok, it’s not like Emil is going to retire any sooner). If you like Emil’s style of love song, you will definitely like this album, Liang Liang Love Song 2, like I do. :)
