He became widely popular before even showing his face. After winning the online competition named “Ocean”, his music career started. His debut song “Lonely Northern Half of the Globe” (Gu Dan Bei Ban Qiu) topped the musical chart for 9 weeks, consecutively. And then, the world has their eyes on him.

Yup, it’s the virtual singer (which is no longer virtual anymore, due to his recent exposure ;) ), Ocean Ou De Yang.

After his very successful debut album, “There’s Ocean on the northern half of globe” (Bei Ban Qiu You Ou De Yang) a year ago, “Ocean 2″ came out few months ago this year. “Listen to you playing the piano” (Ting Ni Tan Gang Qin) builds from the tune of “Northen Half of the Globe”, but it’s a completely different song. The main track of the album “Six Colour Rainbox”(Liu Se Cai Hong), seemed like building on the same style of “Lonely Northern Half of Globe” (Gu Dan Bei Ban Qiu). In many ways, really alike, simple, melodic tune.

However a few songs really show the depth of Ocean, “The Lost Sea Horizon” (Shi Luo De Hai Ping Xian), “Phoenix Flower Season (Feng Huang Hua Ji), “Happiness of Tomorrow” (Ming Tian De Xing Fu). Impressively, Ocean performed all of them effortlessly good, sounding like a true veteran.

“Small Husband and Wife” (Xiao Fu Qi), is the duet between Ocean Ou and Chai Chun Jia. I was like, “Wow” when listens to this song. They seemed to have the great chemistry, complimenting each other, like a couple. The last, hidden track (No.13), “See you at the Concert” (Yan Chang Hui Jian), made a promise with his fans, to meet them at his concert (which was sheduled at November, last month, at Singapore). It ended the album while giving us the glimpse of chance to see him in person.

More commercialized, it seemed, but it still preserved the core, of Ocean Ou. Nothing fancy, just comfortable voice, that blends into the music, just like the peaceful notion of the blue ocean.
