Meeting Love (Yu Shang Ai)
Her debut album wasn’t bad. However, this album left me disappointed. Out of 10 songs, I only like 5 of them.
I’ll start with the week ones.
Track 1, this is too bubblegum pop, boring and repetitive. The same goes to track 7. Track 9 sounds like a lame remixed song. I have to skip it everytime I reach this song. Just can’t stand it.
Track 5, a ballad is boring as well, it’s too lacking and plain. Track 6 is a Korean song cover, also a sample of Edward Elgar’s “Salut D’Amour”. Out of all the samples of classical songs, only very few of them impress me, this one neither. And come on, it sounds like she’s trying to hard to be cute.
Now, I’m going to the tracks that I like. Track 2 and track 10 are like “Ai Mei”. Both have nice melody but I think Rainie has used too much falsetto in her singing. It makes her vocal sounds very shaky. It’s better in track 8 where she uses less falsetto.
On the other hand, track 3 is good. I love this song immediately on my first listen. The melody itself is very nice and catchy. And Rainie sounds more natural here compared to other fast-tempo songs in the album.
Track 4 will be my favorite ballad in the album, along with track 10. Vocal wise, this is the best song. This is the only song that shows me that Rainie can sing. I don’t know if that is tuned using equipments, but the high notes in the brigde do raise my hair. Anyway, the voice control can be better. She needs to learn to sing with her chest voice instead of just shouting.
As much as I like her personality, the quality of this album has gone worse than her debut. Her vocal in ballads does improve a bit, but this album looks like a rush production.

i’ve only heard one of her albums ai mei and to be honest it didn’t really impress me much… her voice is very poppy and high… her songs aren’t bad but i don’t think she stands very much chance seeing her competition in the cpop world is of very high standard

I’ve listened to her debut album too. She’s not that bad actually. And the poppy voice. it is the trend among Taiwanese female singers now.
But you are right, if she wants to have a longer singing career, she has to start working on her vocal and also give more attention in the production of her albums.

I’m not surprised it sounds like a rushed job - Jolin’s got a new album coming out in a couple of weeks, and without a new album to promote, Rainie would (finally) disappear into the ether, drowned from all memory by the onslaught of Jolin propaganda. And the moment people start to forget who Rainie is, she’s dead in the water.

1st album impression: wow! she can sing. not bad… i like her. the songs are nice and easy listening too.
2nd album impression: uh oh! is this rainie??? how come she had become another person??? the songs are like… eww… annoying… why the suddden change???
basically, i’m very very disappointed in her in this album.

To me…this album is just ok, not as bad as I thought. She’s still a very new singer, perhaps the expectation towards her is a bit too high.
I personally love Track 2, Ke Ai. It’s just so nice…nothing beats this song, not even the songs from Ai Mei..

hahaha…sheesh…there’s quite a lot of -ve feedbacks on her album…personally i prefer this album (Meeting Love) than the first…i find all the sad songs nice…ie: 可爱 ..左边 ..失眠的睡美人 … YEA thats pretty all the songs that i like in this album…lolz…i fink rainie is talented …but i dont think she can survive for long…i mean her vocals arent that good!! and the trend n path that she’s takin for her singin career is ezy of get bored n sick of!! *dun u agree* i mean … theres juz too much of those “act-cute” stuff in her songs n MV…. ooo i swear i get sooo sick of them sumtimes….WELL i dont noe… i juz think that she wont survive for long in this industry that’s all…. she fits well quite well into the talk shows n stuff but juz not singin…JUZ put it this way… i mean wud u go to jay chou’s concert or hers?!!!pretty obvious huh?! lolz… yes i’m not here to criticise her or nethin… i mean i understand she’s takin up new oppurtunities n stuff but…. ooo wells..

I personally love Rainie, although i have to admit, the first song i heard from her was Celebration, which was way too try hard cute and annoying. But i love her ballads! And i agree with Jessy, i think Track 5 (Zhao Bu Dao) is rather plain…but i still prefer it to the other poppy songs. I love Sensitive though…i noticed hardly any of you guys like it. But it’s my fave song!! =D

I am a very big fan of Rainie and even had the opportunity to see her in person. I beg to differ that her vocals are bad, I actually love her vocals, that is the reason I liked her in the first place.
If you actually watch her live concert, her live version of Zuo Bian is amazing though it was a little spoilt due to her pause while singing the highest note as a result of her cough. It is very difficult to rise your voice to that kind of level for Zuo Bian.
I love Guo Min, a very beautiful song! She is a rising star, and very soon she will become big. She is already very well known worldwide, so for those who think she can’t make it, you are very wrong :)

OMG i like love rainie yang!! i like her acting better then her singing but i think her voice is cute though. i kinda actually like the first album ai mei better because my favourite song is li xiang qing ren (ideal lover). some of her songs are boring i cant stand some of them it just feels the the song is dragging on and on and never ending. overall i really like her in general cause she’s able to do alittle bit of everything. o and by the way i heard that she’s going to have a third album coming out soon does anybody no wat is called or when it’s going to come out?
