After an impressive first creative album (which I might write a review someday later), Kenji (Wu Ke Qun) goes further few steps on his new album – The Kenji Show. As usual in his previous album, he wrote all the songs and lyrics, now even participate on editting and composing the tracks. After few listening, I have to say, the Ekin Cheng look alike did a pretty good job this time.

“The Kenji Show” really puts up a show on messing around with all sort of styles. Starting from the fun and fast pace “Clam” (Ha) , the cute “Big Tongue” (Da She Tou), and humourous “Zhou Xing Xing” (As referring to Stephen Chow), which includes several Stephen Chow’s favourite passages in his movies. Never been more fun listening to those tracks.

On the other side, Kenji never fail showing the sensitive side of him in the slow and sentimental song. A few worth mentioning one are, “I’m Guilty” (Wo You Zui) on admitting himself is the “guilty one” and wanting to be punished by singing love song (what kind of punishment is that?). “Don’t Want to Remember” (Bu Xie Ji Nian) is one of my favourite ( credit to Dyland for introducing as “a young broody-looking 20-something washboard-ab male singer singing topless” :D ) , about him and his ex, translation can be found here.

I admire Kenji’s creativity and effort on creating something different. It is different, and definitely a better piece at today’s market. Really Recommended :)
