It’s been 5 years since Michael Wong / Guang Liang went solo in 2001. Since then, he has released 3 solo albums. In case that you didn’t know, he was in the duo 无印良品 Wu Yin Liang Pin with Victor Wong / Pin Guan. In 2005, a song “童话 Tong Hua / Fairy Tale” has brought Michael Wong / Guang Liang’s popularity throughout Asia. In the beginning of 2006, Michael didn’t rush to release another full length album; instead, he releases a collection of his compositions, with 2 new songs.

This album has been much anticipated. The two new songs “约定 Yue Ding / Commitment” and “都是你 Dou Shi Ni / All About You” continues the style of “童话 Tong Hua” and “天堂 Tian Tang / Heaven”. I consider that a good move. It’s unwise to change your style of music when people start to recognize it. Both are Michael-styled romantic love songs and both are written and sung well. These songs with simple piano arrangement suit Michael the best.

Titled “First Compilation of Composition”, this album features a couple of covers in this album, which Michael composed for other singers. That includes “勇气 Yong Qi / Courage” by Fish Leong, “恋 Lian / Love” by Angelina Lee Xin Jie and “我等你 Wo Deng Ni / I Wait for You” by Rene Liu.

In the AVCD that comes along with the CD, there are several music videos and instrumentals of Michael or无印良品Wu Yin Liang Pin’s previous songs. That’s a nice review of his previous works.
