Oh Lord, where should I begin? Well, first of all, this drama is so addicting, it’s not even funny. It’s currently in my top 10 favorite Taiwanese Idol Dramas. Now, when it comes to its soundtrack album, I have to admit, this is one of my ultimate guilty pleasures. Meaning? I won’t be caught dead holding it in my hands. 為什麼 (wei shen mo: why)? Because this album is pretty much a marketing tool to shoot up 183 Club and 7 Flowers: [BOYBAND, GIRL BAND]. Eeeeeeeeeek!!!

Notable tracks:
Despite of my fear of the bubblegummers, there are a few notable tracks. Some are influenced by Latin music, no doubt, including the earworm [迷魂計], which is the opening theme song. It has a good dance beat, makes you feel like putting on your salsa shoes and fly! Next, I have to admit, regardless of its “nyanya nyunyu” lyric, I still like [真愛], the ending theme. I think it’s because it reminds me of one of Leon Lai’s old school songs; brings back some memories for some reasons. Interesting point: for a pretty bubblegummy album, this OST surprisingly has awesome scores (instrumental pieces). They are very well composed and certainly deliver all the fun and cute feelings the story tries to convey. I highly suggest [Latina] and [Wonderful Day]. My biggest problem with this whole album is 7 Flowers. Their songs are not worth listening at all! 為什麼 (wei shen mo: why)? First, stupid lyric, i.e: [我只想要]). Second, they can’t sing. Don’t believe me? Try listening to [Bye! Boy] without banging your head on the cubicle wall! Bad composition, bad lyric, bad vocal; it’s everything you want in a bad song period.

In a nutshell: Hmm… if you are a true music lover, then I suggest you run as far as you can from this album. However, if you absolutely fall in love with the series like I do, then go for it! You don’t want to have sleepless nights for having [迷魂計] stuck in your ears and not have this album in your CD player! What a nightmare would that be! :)
