I was skeptical when this album came out. Sophomore albums seldom live up to their debut (Tong En’s debut was quite good). Furthermore, I’ve only heard one song played on the radio. So it was not until i borrowed my friend’s copy that i realised this album has potential.
Tong En (didnt realise she is now known as Rebecca Hsu until today) again brought her quality voice back. song selection is more consistent this time around. her debut had a little bit of rock and a touch of hip hop, with rap. but none of that this time and for the better too. so you can quite expect what you are going to get, and be satisfied with it too.
I dont know how good it is when every single song here is at least above average, but not one of them is something really great. Most of the songs here are ballads with a couple of more upbeat ones.
I wont be recommending any tracks specifically because i believe all 12 songs are worth listening to. this is one cd that you definitely can listen to over and over again, and each track will be taking turns at becoming your favourite. so i’ll just give you my current favourites which are The Injured Musician and Cant Understand.
So if you dont mind easy listening ballads, give this whole album a try.
