After a long wait Tank finally released a new album which is rather adeptly entitled ‘The 3rd Round’ following his first 2 albums with the ‘Fighting theme’. Here’s a quick ran down on what to expect this 3rd time around.

01. 繃帶俱樂部 – Bandage Club
- Electric Rock. Opens with a moderate-beat rap and gradually moves to a more fluid sound yet maintaining the upbeat tempo. It’s a welcome addition to your “music list for driving”.

02. 生還者 – Survivor
- I have to say this is very nicely done, I like the moderate beat with a sort of electric rock infusion that gives it character that’s close to pop yet still keeps a distinct feel to it – nothing mushy – cutesy. It’s a really nice sound-trip song…

03. 全世界都停電 – Entire World In Black Out
- this is a moving ballad. I found the title rather suggestive and I thought it might be some kind of an earth-advocacy song but it’s so not. It’s just one of those songs that leaves a gentle feeling. It’s nothing really new but I still find it as a good track to complete the mix.

04. 阿門 – Amen
- lovely intro. I liked the music almost as soon as the song started. It’s got a rather suggestive title but it’s nothing religious or anything of that sort. It’s a soothing ballad, good melody blended with a relaxed beat. This is a very likeable track

05. 真心話太冒險 – Sincere Words are Too Risky
- this track has a rather fast beat despite the message/lyrics. Or I should probably say it’s such a “guy’s song” – emotions/feelings are carried out in such a “strong” manner. It’s surprisingly amusing.

06. 如果我變成回憶 – If I Turn Into A Memory
- this is one of those ‘heart-wrenching’ tracks that can come in handy if you’re in the mood to wallow/emote. It’s got really nice-but-rather-sad lyrics…

07. 會長大的幸福 – Happiness That Grows
- I like how this song conveys a really sweet message. Quite mushy – I admit but it’s got such a lovely melody that’s very much a Tank-signature-tune [if I may say so..]. Very light-hearted & pleasant!

08. 陽光美眉 – Sunshine Girl
- When I first heard the intro of this song, I can’t help but smile… it’s such a ‘rainy-day sound-trip’ kind of song – like when it’s raining & you’re by the window with this song playing in the back ground. It’s laid-back and fun at the same time. Suffice to say, I like it! It’s sweet & heart-fluttering

09. 再做一個夢 – Dream Again
- This one sounds empowering / encouraging. It’s actually a nice song, only it’s nothing really new about it. I would not really deem it as ‘forgetable’ but I’ll just put it as ‘not really my choice of song’. Although, I might be running the risk of judging it prematurely… perhaps if I listen to it some more, I’ll probably change my mind about it. But for now, this is what I’ve got to say.

10. 是誰 – Who is It?
- this last track is another electric-rock song. Good mix. It’s actually very suitable for an opening act in a show or concert… One of the more powerful tracks in the selection. It’s a really nice song.

Inference: I like it! Having heard Tank’s music on his first & second album, I really appreciate how ‘The 3rd Round’ turned out. I would have preferred it to have 1 more track, but the album overall is not bad. It’s a fairly good addition to my Chinese music collection. If you’re already a fan & you got the first 2 albums, you’ll definitely want to get this one… If you happen to be a newbie on Tank’s music, you’ll surely going to appreciate this album and might find yourself wanting to get the other 2. Either way, this album is a sure HIT!
