I was quite looking forward to the release of Yu Heng’s third album. In recent years, she has successfully gained her popularity as a multi-talented artist. This album never let her fans down.

“有你多好/You Ni Duo Hao” is a sweet ballad. Just like her first released single, “依然是朋友/Still Friends”, this song has been a radio hit since it’s released.

“冒险家/Mao Xian Jia” and “学习/Xue Xi” are my favorite songs from this album. “冒险家/Mao Xian Jia” is a cheerful and happy J-rock like song. “学习/Xue Xi” is slightly deeper, about growing up, enduring fear and struggles. I like the way she sings her heart out in the chorus.

Then there is track 5, “就是我/Jiu Shi Wo”, a soft ballad with piano accompaniment. Just like the title suggests, the song is about Yu Heng herself. The song touches me as I relate myself to the lyrics, such as “It’s just me, the simplest me who enjoys freedom… It’s me who is a little stubborn, is always changing and volatile…”

The last track is a bonus track, a new version of “依然是朋友/Still Friends”. Like her previous album, the songs in this album are diverse and not boring. Even though, Yu Heng still keeps them fresh and simple, mostly using guitar and piano. If you haven’t already known, she composes and writes most of the songs in the album. It’s definitely a worth buying album for me.
